          Since NIC has been identified as the E-Governance wing of the Department of Information-Technology, H.P. Govt., therefore, most of computerisation efforts in the District Kangra are NIC driven. Presently, NIC Kangra is involved in the following computerisation activities in the District :


HARDWARE INFRASTRUCTURE

District Collectorate
Wipro Acer 900 Pentium 1 All 16 terminals of the District Collectorate installed in the various branches are connected through this system.
Line Terminal Server (16 Ports) 1 One LTS is connected to 16 GIST Terminals installed in the various branches of the Collectorate Office and second LTS is standby.
Terminals 16 These Terminals are installed in the various branches of the Collectorate Office and are extensively used for the Office Automation work.
8 Ports Hubs 6 These are used in establishing LAN.
Dot Matrix Printers 15 Installed in the various branches of District Collectorate.

District Rural Development Agency (DRDA)
Windows NT Server    (Pentium III 450MHz) 1 It is connected to five clients of the DRDA through Hub which is further connected to the LAN. SQL server and RuralSoft pacakge are also loaded on it.
Windows 98 Clients (Pentium III 450MHz) 5 These  are   used  by  the   DRDA  staff  for wordprocessing, entering data into the RuralSoft package and Development schemes moniotring work sanctioned by the Deputy Commissioner.
Hubs (8 UTP ports & 1 BNC port) 1 These are used in establishing LAN.
